FAQ: How do I operate cordless shades? | Soleffect

Soleffect’s EZ Lift™ cordless system is designed for intuitive, one-handed operation. By removing the need for traditional lift cords or chains, this system offers a cleaner look and improved safety while providing a smooth, balanced movement for daily light control.

Step-by-Step Operation

The EZ Lift™ system utilizes a precise internal spring-tension mechanism. To operate your shades effectively, follow these simple steps:

  • Raising the Shade: From the lowered position, pull down slightly on the hembar (the bottom rail). This movement releases the internal tension lock, allowing the shade to travel smoothly and automatically to its upper limit.
  • Lowering the Shade: Simply grasp the hembar and pull it down steadily until it reaches the desired lower limit.
  • Locking in Place: Once you reach the bottom or your preferred stopping point, the shade will automatically lock into position, staying securely where you set it.

Best Practices for Longevity

To maintain the calibration of the spring motor, we recommend operating the shade from the center of the hembar. This ensures even tension across the fabric and prevents the shade from telescoping (veering to one side) over time.

Is your cordless shade moving too fast or too slow? The internal tension can be professionally adjusted to match the weight of your specific fabric. Contact our support team for calibration assistance.
